Colerain traveled to play a tough Fairfield team.

JV

This team is learning. Fairfield put some serious speed on the field tonight but Colerain seemed to handle it just fine. Fairfield was able to score 2 goals in the first half, one from a penalty kick 25 yards out and one down the middle of the defense. Colerain made some adjustments and were able to control Fairfield the rest of the game. In the second half Colerain did a good job of picking up everything Fairfield was throwing at them, including some nicely scripted corner kick plays. Colerain's defense did a nice job of pulling Fairfield offside's, pushing the ball forward and shutting down the Indian's attack. The Colerain offense had some opportunities in front of Fairfield's goal but was unable to score. The game ended 2-0 Fairfield.

Varsity

Colerain knew they had their hands full coming into this game. Not only did Fairfield have an impressive record of 9-1-3 but senior midfielder/defenseman Conner Mcgee was unable to play due to injury. The game started out at an extremely fast pace. You could tell it was Fairfield's intention to get a goal in the first two minutes of the game. Colerain, however, loves that kind of game and did a good job handling Fairfield's attack. At the half way point of the first half. Fairfield was able to score on a run down their right side centering the ball to the middle. The Indians would score once again this half on what seemed like a high arcing shot that goalie Mitch Revetta was coming out for but from out of nowhere, a Fairfield striker got a head on it and scored. The half ended 2-0. Colerain did a good job controlling Fairfield most of the second half. However, at about the 13 minute mark, the flood gates opened for the Indians. Fairfield was able to score on a P.K. inside the box, then again 3 minutes later down the middle and once again with 90 seconds left in the game. Final score 5-0.

Colerain hosts Finneytown Saturday.
