This week the cross country teams competed at the Firebird Invitational in Kettering, Ohio. The boy's team finished 2nd in a very competitive race, losing only to an Elder squad projected to go to the state championship meet. Senior Jeffrey Denny and Junior Craig Sulken ran out front, finishing in 16:50 (8th overall) and 16:52 (9th) respectively. Junior Kurtis Marshall also stepped up to fill roles left by injured runners, running a personal best time of 18:18 as the team's 5th man. The girl's team finished 5th overall in their race. Junior Allison Steinbeck led the team with a time of 20:19, finishing 14th overall. Juniors Marisel Lopez (21:17) and Lyndsey Yuellig (22:25) also stepped up and ran great races for the team.
