Colerain traveled to Lakota West

JV

The Colerain Junior Varsity team played a good game today. West was able to score 1 goal in the first half on a questionable call inside Colerain's penalty box, giving them a penalty kick. That would be the only goal of this game. The referee's definitely played a role in this match, continuously calling every little "ticky tack" foul. The Cardinals did a good job of figuring out Lakota's attack and shutting it down. The second half was clearly dominated by the Cardinals; they were just unable to generated enough offense to score.

Varsity

It seems as if the Cards have had quite a long hiatus, not having played a game since October 5th, It was senior night for Lakota West and the Firebirds came out fired up, scoring three goals in the first half. With 35 minutes left, the Firebirds took a shot from 25 yards out, their striker was then able to get in front and deflect it in. 1-0 West. With 26 minutes left, West scored on a corner kick that they were able to head ball in. 2-0 West. With 16 minutes left , the Firebirds served up a ball from the right side that they were able to head in. 3-0 West. This would end the scoring in this game. The Cardinals, after some personnel changes, were able to the Firebirds from this point on. The Cardinals struggled with their passing game tonight, unable to control the ball well enough to generate much of a threat to the Firebirds.

Senior Night and the final home game is tonight at the Football Stadium. The Cards will be wearing pink socks in support of the Pink Ribbon Girls Foundation. JV starts at 6, and Varsity around 7:15pm.

Go Cards!!!!!!!
