Cross Country Week In Review

The girl's cross country team raced at the Princeton Invitational this week at Princeton High School, putting together their best team effort of the season despite competing on a challenging course and coming in second as a team. Junior Sam Work finished 4th overall with a time of 20:56. Junior Allison Steinbeck finished 6th overall, despite racing for the first time this season due to injuries, with a time of 21:08. Juniors Marisel Lopez and Stacey Sulken and senior Kristen Wells also raced well together, finishing within 13 seconds of each other. The junior varsity boys also competed at Princeton, with Junior David Friedhoff running a time of 19:38 and earning a varsity spot next week.The boy's varsity traveled north for the Tiffin Carnival, the largest meet in Ohio and the second largest meet in the nation with 40 teams and 276 runners in the varsity race. The team finished 18th out of those 40 teams, including many of the state's top teams. Senior Jeffrey Denny led the way with a personal best time of 16:36. Senior Zach Burt ran a personal best time in 17:02, closely followed by Junior Victor Zeinner at 17:06, another personal best.
